Signs of this year’s RV season are popping up! Canada’s largest RV show is happening this month, and we’re only a few weeks from “springing” our motorhome from its winter storage. We’ve also booked our calendars for this year’s Explorer RV Club rally in Niagara Falls, September 11-14, 2025 (Stay tuned!)
Now that we’ve blocked off the dates for the rally, we’re starting to plan for the rest of the summer. After checking the Explorer RV Club website for some campground ideas, I was reminded again of how having an Explorer RV Club membership is core to my RV experience. Where else in Canada would I be able to tap into a knowledgeable community of enthusiastic RVers, make new friends from so many different walks of life, and tap into a wide range of services, resources, and discounts available only to members? And where else would I find blogs and Facebook postings uniquely geared for Canadian RVers?
I may not be fully utilizing some membership benefits. If, like me, you need a bit of a refresher, I encourage you to take a few minutes to scroll through the overview to see what may help you save on your RVing this year:

- Discounts for more than 240 Canadian and American RV campgrounds.
- Enhanced features for memberships to Terego, Passport America, and Harvest Hosts.

- Discounts are available for purchasing SoftStartUp units, replacing windshields when travelling in the USA, and purchasing Boss Technology professional cleaning products.
-
In addition, Explorer RV Club members receive a free subscription to Explore magazine (and a discount at their outfitter e-store), as well as special pricing on prescription eyecare from IRIS.
The list goes on! Members also have access to a wide range of benefits provided through EdvantagePerks, including savings on car rentals, entertainment and sports, finance and insurance, health and wellness, home and office, moving and storage, tech, and travel.
On a more personal note, my husband Martin and I estimate that we’ve saved nearly $1000 in the last year by tapping into discounts for campgrounds, VIA Rail, Dulux Paints, and Mark’s. This year, we’re actively considering discounts for Jamieson Vitamins, Java Works Coffee, IRIS eyewear, and Brick and Staples items.
Borrowing from that credit card slogan from several years ago, membership in the Explorer RV Club certainly has its privileges, all for an annual membership that costs less than 12 cents per day. Here’s to great beginnings for this year’s RV season – and some nice savings!
